As a Staff Accountant at Transnetyx, you will play a vital role in maintaining the integrity of our financial records and ensuring the accuracy of our financial reporting. You will contribute to our monthly close processes, participate in audits, and help us continuously improve our accounting practices. Preferred Time Zones: This role requires the applicant to reside in the Central Standard Time (CST) or Eastern Standard Time (EST) zones to facilitate team collaboration.

What You'll Do:

  • Master the Month-End Close: Prepare journal entries, perform meticulous account reconciliations and analysis, investigate discrepancies, resolve issues efficiently, and collaborate seamlessly with fellow team members to ensure timely and accurate monthly reporting.
  • Drive Process Improvement: Continuously assess our close processes, identify opportunities for optimization, and actively re-engineer workflows to reduce timelines and enhance efficiency.
  • Become a Business Partner: Participate in cross-functional initiatives to gain a deep understanding of our business operations and ensure transactions are accurately accounted for in accordance with US GAAP and relevant foreign statutory requirements.
  • Shape Our Financial Future: Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to strengthen financial processes and internal controls, taking a proactive role in standardizing existing accounting practices.
  • Contribute to Strategic Planning: Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing valuable insights into our financial outlook.
  • Support External Audits: Play a key role in the year-end financial statement audit by preparing thorough audit work papers and responding effectively to auditor inquiries.
  • Foster Team Excellence: Cultivate a collaborative and supportive team environment by providing guidance, mentorship, and constructive workpaper reviews to accounting staff, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Provide Actionable Insights: Conduct ad hoc financial analysis and reporting to support critical business initiatives and informed decision-making, offering valuable insights and recommendations for financial improvements and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Embrace Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall success of the finance team.

Qualifications

What You'll Bring:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
  • Preferred Education: CPA license or Master’s degree in Accounting is a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of hands-on accounting experience at a company whose financial statements are prepared and audited for GAAP compliance.
  • Preferred Experience: Foundation in public accounting is highly desirable; experience in a private equity-backed company is a significant advantage.
  • GAAP Expertise: Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting requirements.
  • ERP Proficiency: Experience with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system; NetSuite proficiency is strongly preferred.
  • Excel Mastery: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including extensive experience with VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables for data analysis and reporting.
  • Integrity & Dependability: High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and commitment to accuracy.
