Transnetyx is seeking a full-time U.S. based Genetic Resolutions Specialist. You are responsible for serving as the scientific expert for Transnetyx in the areas of troubleshooting and investigating a multitude of genetics-based issues, handling both complex and technical genotyping inquiries, developing real-time PCR strategies, and offering recommendations and resolutions with the overall goal of delivering positive, timely, and accurate quality customer experiences. The Role (Essential Functions and Duties)

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING DAY TO DAY

  • Receives, coordinates, and executes multiple tasks relating to genotyping concerns and genetic-based queries escalated from the front-line support team and/or Sales.
  • Responsible for responding to customer queries submitted through all communication channels (e.g. email, phone, chat) within the promised timeframes (48h or 72h) and initiate an action plan that leads to resolution.
  • Analyzes, investigates, and troubleshoots results and technical discrepancies and issues by examining both current and historical scientific data to determine the necessary course of action.
  • Follows and executes a resolution-based, technical methodology to address and rectify scientific issues, discrepancies that serve and supports customer research needs.
  • Maintains working knowledge as a product expert across all of our customer-facing systems and internal systems needed to execute job functions.
  • Contributes innovative ideas to improve and automate processes, workflows, and systems that impact the technical internal and external customer experience.
  • Evaluates and analyzes genetic information to architect, troubleshoot, and optimize real-time PCR assays.
  • Accurately utilizes genetic information to troubleshoot and resolve results and assay discrepancies providing an outline and/or summary to customers of the resolution.
  • Remediates or replaces existing assays that are not functioning properly by troubleshooting and fixing design issues related to primer/probe redesign or sample issues and information.

Qualifications

WHAT YOU WILL BRING (Qualifications)

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor of Science in Biology or related field.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Must have a minimum of 2 years experience in a science-related field. More specifically, a scientific background with an understanding of molecular biology and research lab experience is a plus, but not required.
  • Must have a minimum of 6 months experience working in a customer or client-facing capacity where servant-minded soft skills were demonstrated on a routine basis.
  • Experience working with quantitative PCR and/or transgenic models beneficial.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience and demonstrated ability using sequence analysis
  • software such as Vector NTI or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience and demonstrated ability using online genetic
  • resources, databases, and browsers such as NCBI, Ensembl, and
  • MGI recommended.
  • Experience and demonstrated ability using CRM applications and web-based project management or task management tools is preferred.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge in assay development techniques, scientific best practices, and technical knowledge about gene editing models including CRISPR and genetics of research models is preferred.
  • Experience and demonstrated ability using sequence analysis.
  • software such as Vector NTI or equivalent preferred.
  • Proficient in nucleic acid (DNA, RNA) extraction methodologies involving liquid and tissue specimens/samples for genotyping.
  • Must have the ability to react quickly to understand and solve complex problems using strong time management, organizational, prioritization, analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Must have the ability to think laterally and critically to solve complex customer issues.
  • Must possess the ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and customers to ensure a quality customer experience.
  • Must demonstrate a strong work ethic including great personal drive, motivation, discipline, and initiative.
  • Must possess outstanding communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, and customer service skills and have the ability to communicate effectively in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural customer setting.
