Description

Transnetyx is seeking a full-time Software QA Manager to join our GROWING team. You are responsible for leading the Quality Assurance Software team and carrying out tasks individually. You will ensure that all QA activities are in accordance with organizational standards and industry best practices. Responsibilities include developing a high performing team while ensuring the quality of Transnetyx developed software products. As a manager of people, you will provide servant leadership, mentorship and administrative capabilities to ensure that team members’ professional and administrative needs are met. In addition, the QA Software Manager may need to design and develop test scripts and test cases as it relates to the customer facing web sites while facilitating an understanding of the software development process to various team members and departments.

You'll develop strategies that support software engineering and innovation through on-time delivery of products, optimization of development processes and the creation of platform components that accelerate future development of products. This position is responsible for leading the software QA team while achieving the company’s business objectives. Supports and provides strategic direction of internally developed software products in order to increase value proposition, market share, and product quality.

• Leads a cross functional agile software QA team, and serves as a communication bridge between the engineering team and business leadership
• Must be capable of leading a complex software modernization effort on an expedited timeline
• Directs activities of the software QA team in order to achieve critical business objectives within resource and time constraints
• Collaborates closely with the PMO to coordinate resource allocation and interdependencies among projects, products, and strategic initiatives
• Works closely with the PMO to identify, communicate, and collaboratively mitigate project risks, including scope creep and timeline adjustments that are likely to have business and customer impact
• Leverages metrics and works closely with the PMO to improve the SDLC process and delivery timelines
• Delivers solutions based on current best practices including cloud and microservices architectures.
• Works closely with Transnetyx offshore software engineering partners – helps coordinate intra- and offshore team activities
• Develops and implements standards, guidelines and methodologies for multiple software teams to ensure coordination, collaboration, alignment and code reuse between modules and development teams
• Communicates on all levels with senior management, including technical, strategic and business
• Ensures all product designs and documentation meets client expectations and Transnetyx standards
• Provides critical input to the development of software strategy and research and development of new and emerging products and technologies
• Directs the growth of the software QA team by providing individualized guidance, training and supervision
• Trains and supports employees on implemented system changes or issues related to applications and supporting software

Qualifications

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

EDUCATION: B.S. in Computer Science, CIS, MIS, or related field of study OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
EXPERIENCE: Must have 10+ years of experience in software development QA with 5 years in a leadership role with a demonstration of in-depth software development life cycle understanding and applied knowledge.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:

  • 5+ year experience implementing enterprise design patterns
  • Experience with automated testing platforms
  • Experience operating multiple QA environments
  • Understanding of the MS programming stack
  • Experience with Angular and UI/UX toolkits
  • Deep experience with software modernization efforts
  • Broad understanding of data handling and processing concepts.
  • Expert C# skills utilizing Object/Aspect/Functional design
  • Data persistence patterns design and development experience
  • Expert knowledge of REST, WebAPI, and WCF
  • In depth understanding of Agile Kanban/Scrum processes
  • ASP.NET MVC 5 / .NET Core Application design experience
  • Distributed Source Control management experience

ADDITIONAL SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience with JIRA, Bitbucket, Azure DevOps and/or other devops tools is highly desirable.
• Experience with Azure cloud solutions, microservices, Docker, and Dapr is highly desirable
• Experience with Salesforce, NetSuite and MS PowerBI is highly desirable.
• Cross platform mobile application development experience utilizing Xamarin, Cordova, or HTML5 is a plus.
• Must have excellent written and oral communication skills and be able to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management and third parties.
• Must possess strong analytical skills, be detail-oriented, be able to work under pressure, meet deadlines, multi-task and work both independently and as a part of a team.

Physical Demands:
This position may experience prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, typing/working on a computer. May lift up to 15lbs at times.
