Description

Transnetyx is seeking a full-time Automation Technician for our Memphis facility. Your responsibilities will include carrying out tasks as directed in the installation, alteration, design, upkeep, and restoration of laboratory instruments, robotics, and related equipment. These tasks will typically follow established procedures but may require a higher level of skill and autonomy to execute independently, with minimal oversight.

The Role

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING DAY TO DAY

  • Independently troubleshoot problems and issues occurring with automated equipment and systems and related components.
  • Perform routine diagnostic checks and tests and preventative maintenance on all automated equipment and systems and related components.
  • Order replacement parts for all automated equipment and systems and related components as needed.
  • Perform electrical wiring and plumbing work for automated equipment and facilities support.
  • Perform additional maintenance and repairs for facility as needed; including but not limited to assembly of office equipment, painting, and upkeep of other non-essential equipment.
  • Ensure cleanliness and functionality of designated storage and work areas.
  • Documentation using a computerized maintenance management system (GoFMX) to record repairs, parts used, and monitor instrument performance. In addition, to our TYX Operations App and Incident Reports systems.
  • On-Call technical support rotations as assigned to support the On-Call Engineer to guarantee customer orders are processed timely.
  • Assist with the development and training of level 1 technicians.
  • Assist with the development of new automation equipment.
  • Ability to travel and support external customers.

Qualifications

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

EDUCATION:

High School Diploma or equivalent (minimum 1-year relevant experience may be substituted for education)

EXPERIENCE:

3 years as a journey-level in industrial / automation maintenance related education may substituted for experience.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Must possess strong electrical, plumbing, and mechanical skills.
  • Knowledge of general hand tools and willingness to learn.
  • Must possess some computer skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Mobile Apps.
  • Must have the ability to grasp new concepts quickly and thoroughly.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • 3D design and printing of fixtures and tooling.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must possess strong critical thinking skills and be able to evaluate problems quickly and creatively under pressure.
  • Must be self-motivated and can work with others, and multi-task while remaining attentive to detail.
  • Must be able to prioritize, organize, and perform work independently.
  • Must possess good oral and written communication skills.
