This role reports directly to the Assistant Controller and plays an integral part in our monthly close process, general ledger integrity, and day-to-day accounting operations — including ownership of the accounts payable function. It is an excellent opportunity for an early-career CPA looking to develop broad technical skills and grow within a dynamic, PE-backed SaaS environment.

Key Responsibilities

General Ledger & Month-End Close

  • Participate actively in the monthly close process, ensuring timely and accurate completion of assigned tasks in accordance with the close calendar
  • Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepaid amortization, and reclassifications
  • Prepare and maintain reconciliations for assigned balance sheet accounts, investigating and resolving variances in a timely manner
  • Support continuous improvement of close processes, identifying opportunities to streamline or automate recurring tasks

Accounts Payable

  • Manage the full AP cycle, including invoice receipt, coding, approval routing, and entry into Sage Intacct
  • Process vendor payments and maintain the AP subledger, ensuring agreement to the general ledger at all times
  • Monitor DPO and vendor aging, flagging concerns to management as appropriate
  • Serve as the primary contact for vendor inquiries and maintain organized, audit-ready AP documentation

Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Assist in the preparation of internal financial reports and supporting schedules for management and lender reporting
  • Support variance analysis and provide commentary on fluctuations in assigned accounts
  • Contribute to ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as directed by the Assistant Controller or Controller

Compliance & Audit Support

  • Assist with external audit and tax engagements by preparing schedules and promptly responding to auditor requests
  • Support maintenance of an effective internal controls environment, including adherence to policies and procedures
  • Assist with multi-entity intercompany entries and reconciliations as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 2-4 years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP and core accounting principles
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems (Sage Intacct a plus)
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication; comfortable working in a collaborative team environment
  • CPA license (or actively pursuing) preferred
  • Big 4 or large regional public accounting experience preferred
  • Prior experience in a SaaS, technology, or PE-backed company environment preferred
  • Familiarity with multi-entity and multi-currency accounting preferred
  • Ability to work Mon-Fri 8am-5pm Eastern Time.
