Job Description

The Revenue Cycle Cash Poster be responsible for performing daily cash posting, reconciliation of electronic and manual payments from both insurance and patient payments. The Cash Poster will keep in communication with each assigned facility regarding emails, tickets, and daily assigned duties aligned with the job functions outlined below.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Processing all incoming EOBs and ERAs to ensure postings are balanced and accurate.
  • Identifies patterns of overpayments(PLBs), CARC and RARC codes
  • Reconciliation on a daily basis to ensure accuracy of daily posting.
  • Complete all items daily that come in from the lockboxes and direct mail
  • Maintain Compliance and HIPAA standards at all times
  • Process insurance and patient payments
  • Process adjustments and credit balances
  • Evaluate and respond to all emails and tickets as needed related to issues
  • Completes required orientation as directed by facility
  • Follows facility and OSHA safety rules and procedures while on assignment
  • Upholds HIPAA regulations
  • Punctual and dependent for assigned/confirmed shifts
  • Knowledge of medical insurance systems, government programs, electronic data exchange, medical documentation, Evaluation and Management, health insurance claim forms, and health insurance policies.
  • All other duties as assigned

Education/Experience Qualifications

  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum three-years’ experience in medical insurance
  • Possesses a basic understanding of medical terminology and procedures
  • Type at least 35wpm

Environmental Conditions

Indoor climate-controlled environment. Moderate to quiet noise level

Physical requirements

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to communicate verbally and in the written form. The employee is physically required to utilize a laptop and other electronic devices effectively. The employee must lift and/or move up to 20 pounds (laptop computer, bag, and accessories). Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
