Job Description

The IT Helpdesk Support assesses and troubleshoots computer user support problems such as desktop support issues, applications support, hardware issues, and installing or relocating system devices. Additionally, this position may monitor computer systems and operations using monitoring software, as assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitors Systems Support Helpdesk, email and other incoming communications requesting systems and technology support
  • Promptly responds to Systems Support Help Desk tickets and escalates tickets to higher level of support as necessary
  • Logs/documents through Systems Support Help Desk all events, findings, actions and problem resolutions
  • Troubleshoots and resolves issues by applying effective, investigative methods and service desk troubleshooting procedures
  • Requests authorization from Manager of Information Technology, prior to non-standard installations and issue resolutions
  • Participates in maintaining and improving Systems Support Help Desk standard operating procedures
  • Provides desktop support and/or applications support, may need to reset user passwords
  • Provides periodic desktop remote control support
  • Configures user default settings for programs and installs approved programs
  • Installs new or relocates and reinstalls existing computer systems, components, and peripheral devices
  • Troubleshoots printing issues and installs printer/copier toner and supplies as needed
  • Troubleshoots meeting rooms to enable meetings or resolve display/audio issues
  • Reports unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor
  • Physically organizes and take inventory of systems, components, and supplies.
  • Adheres to standard procedure documentation.

Technical Knowledge and Experience

  • MS Win 10pro and 11pro installations and troubleshooting
  • Office 365, Active Directory and MS Exchange server
  • Network fundamentals LAN and VPN
  • Working with Ticketing Systems


  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and Minimum of 2 years of IT Helpdesk experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills including documentation

Environmental Conditions

Indoor climate-controlled environment. Moderate to quiet noise level

Physical requirements

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to communicate verbally and in the written form. The employee is physically required to utilize a laptop and other electronic devices effectively. The employee must lift and/or move up to 20 pounds (laptop computer, bag, and accessories). Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
