About the Role:
Are you a seasoned developer with deep expertise in IBM z/OS systems and a passion for building secure, scalable enterprise applications? We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to lead development efforts, drive modernization initiatives, and mentor engineering talent in a mission-critical environment.
What You’ll Do:
- Architect and lead development of secure, scalable z/OS applications.
- Drive modernization and technical strategy across teams.
- Troubleshoot complex system issues and ensure high availability.
- Conduct code reviews, enforce standards, and mentor developers.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to align technical solutions with business goals.
- Own feature development and present outcomes to Product Management.
- Evaluate new technologies and contribute to continuous improvement.
What You Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
- 7+ years of enterprise software development experience, with deep expertise in IBM z/OS environments.
- Expert-level proficiency in Assembler (HLASM) and z/OS system macros.
- Strong experience with APF-authorized code, SRBs, PC routines, and cross-memory services.
- Skilled in integrating Assembler with Java, C, and REXX.
- Advanced debugging skills using XDC, IPCS, and dump analysis.
- Familiarity with JES, SMF, scheduler interfaces, and Sysplex communication (XCF).
- Strong Java development skills, including JZOS, JNI, and batch-mode applications.
- Proven track record in Agile development and Scrum practices.
