About the Role and Team:
The Account Executive, Recruit connects with clinical researchers who need to enroll participants in their studies and helps strategically position OpenClinica's recruitment offerings to expand our reach among researchers and universities nationwide. This client-facing role is responsible for identifying, prospecting, and closing sales opportunities with new and existing clients while driving the sales process from lead qualification through contract negotiation and closing.
The Account Executive, Recruit works closely with Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and Product teams to drive growth, achieve sales targets, and build long-term client relationships. The ideal candidate is passionate about sales, enjoys engaging with clients, and can clearly articulate the value of OpenClinica's services.
- Location: Remote, US-based
- Status: Full-time, Exempt
- Reports to: Vice President of Growth
- Comp.: Base Salary = $70,000. On Target Earnings = $135,000
What You Will Do:
- Identify and assess qualified leads, develop new outreach strategies, and maintain a well-organized sales pipeline
- Conduct cold calls and email outreach to prospective clients and arrange qualified meetings for the Sales Lead to close
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to support client satisfaction and identify upsell opportunities
- Work closely with the Customer Success team to support smooth client onboarding and account management
- Identify opportunities for renewals, upsells, and new business with existing clients
- Contribute to the development of sales tactics and strategies
- Participate in cross-functional initiatives designed to drive growth
- Drive the sales process from lead qualification through contract negotiation and closing
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and Product teams to support sales goals and long-term client relationships
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in sales, customer service, or account management
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field
- Passion for sales and eagerness to learn the sales process, products, and industry
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to diverse audiences
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Proven ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships
- Proficiency with CRM software such as Salesforce or HubSpot, Microsoft Office, and communication tools such as Zoom and Slack
- Ability to adapt to client needs and troubleshoot issues effectively
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and not require employer sponsorship
- Proactive and accountable, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
