Role Summary

The Medical Billing Supervisor will oversee a dedicated team responsible for managing claims related to Auto Liability and Workers' Compensation after initial billing. This role involves ensuring timely follow-up on submitted claims, resolving issues, and maintaining effective communication with insurance companies and patients. The supervisor will focus on performance monitoring, process improvement, and team development to optimize the revenue cycle and enhance overall operational efficiency. Additionally, the supervisor will play a critical role in fostering a collaborative team environment, driving accountability, and ensuring adherence to regulatory standards.

This role is an on-site position at 12443 Olive Blvd. Creve Coeur, Missouri 63141

Responsibilities

  • Manage, mentor, and motivate a team of follow-up specialists to achieve individual and team goals.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to discuss performance, address challenges, and share updates on best practices.
  • Provide ongoing feedback and conduct performance reviews to promote professional growth and accountability.
  • Oversee the tracking of submitted claims, ensuring timely follow-ups and resolution of outstanding issues.
  • Guide the team in managing denials, coordinating appeals, and negotiating with insurance adjusters as needed.
  • Implement best practices and standard operating procedures for the team to follow.
  • Use data analytics to identify trends and inform decision-making.
  • Occasionally assist team members in addressing complex payer inquiries and resolving escalated issues with insurance companies.
  • Foster positive relationships with payers to facilitate efficient claims processing.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years in healthcare billing, with a focus on Auto Liability and Workers' Compensation claims; supervisory experience is a plus.
  • Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills; detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy; proficiency in billing software and Microsoft Office.
