The Position:
As the Academic Program Marketing Manager at Gurobi Optimization, your role will primarily involve supporting our academic initiatives in EMEAI and the Americas, with occasional involvement in APAC efforts as required.
Your key responsibilities will include close collaboration with the Academic Program Director, whom you will report to, and Gurobi's marketing and sales teams.
Your goal will be to develop and execute effective campaigns, plan engaging events, and enhance our social media strategy.
We are seeking a creative thinker who is passionate about tech education and has a proven track record in creating campaigns and events that achieve the following objectives:
- Attracting new academic users. Raising awareness for our open educational materials.
- Increasing visibility and usage of transitional licenses (Take GurobiWith You).
- Generating new leads and users within our academic community.
You are the ideal candidate if you can think innovatively and develop bold marketing campaigns to support our strategic educational initiatives. We aim to establish Gurobi as the primary solver used in classrooms and research by academics. Your enthusiasm for education, ability to build a positive brand image among academic leaders, and strategic approach will drive our academic program efforts to new heights and expand our reach into new territories.

What will you be doing?

  • Develop, execute, and evaluate global campaigns tailored to the academic audience, featuring relevant content, a robust digital presence, and a paid media strategy. The goal is to target and engage potential new academic users and university partners.
  • Implement comprehensive multi-touch campaigns encompassing various components, such as user training, academic events (including all stages of planning, execution, and follow-up), nurture programs, email campaigns, webinars, paid social media initiatives, and digital efforts. This may also involve supporting graphics, web pages, and video assets.
  • Continuously monitor campaign performance using Marketing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and campaign reports. Ensure ongoing optimization of marketing channels for our academic program and regularly communicate results and analysis.
  • Assist the academic program by creating content and evaluating its effectiveness. Engage in outreach efforts and maintain tracking systems to gauge program success.
  • Conduct experiments and carry out continuous testing to enhance the effectiveness of events, social media strategies, and academic-focused programs.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with the demand generation team to ensure successful joint-marketing events that reach academic and commercial audiences.
  • Brainstorm innovative ways to showcase the benefits of optimization to data science and analytics students and explore ways to serve our Operations Research academic community better.

What experience and qualifications should you have?

  • Minimum of 5 years of marketing experience in either a tech company or university environment, demonstrating a track record of successful marketing initiatives.
  • Prior experience with universities or academic institutions is a plus, although optional.
  • Familiarity with data science and optimization concepts is beneficial but optional.
  • 1-3 years of experience creating marketing programs for SaaS (Software as a Service) products.
  • Written and spoken English proficiency is required, and additional language skills are considered advantageous.

  • Proficient in events management, project management, and data analysis, with keen attention to detail and a proactive work approach.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, capable of fostering positive and productive relationships with diverse stakeholders, both internal and external.
  • Proven history of successful collaboration with sales teams and academic partners.
  • User-focused mindset, dedicated to understanding user challenges and staying updated on emerging technologies and tools in optimization for tailoring marketing messages.
  • Adaptable and thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth work environment.
  • Knowledge of modern digital marketing tactics, including Account-Based Marketing (ABM), and proficiency in major paid media channels like Search Engine Marketing (SEM), content syndication, and paid social media.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, characterized by a positive and collaborative attitude conducive to cross-functional teamwork.

What other skills should you have?

  • Thrive in a remote work environment, adapting well to a fast-paced, startup-like culture.
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing large-scale projects from inception to completion.
  • Proficiency in WordPress for creating event landing pages and crafting registration processes, along with familiarity with customer relationship management systems and Content Management Systems (CMS).
  • Experience with tools like Marketo, Zoom Events, or Salesforce is a bonus.
  • Willingness to travel for team offsites and events.
