- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- 5+ years of enterprise network engineering experience in medium-to-large environments.
- Routing & Switching: Hands-on expertise with enterprise-grade hardware (Cisco, Juniper, or equivalent); strong command of VLANs, STP, trunking, and fabric interconnects.
- Routing Protocols: Proficiency with BGP (multi-ISP design), OSPF, and VPN technologies (IPSec, SSL VPN, site-to-site).
- Firewall Management: Strong experience with next-generation firewalls (Palo Alto or equivalent), including Panorama or centralized policy management.
- Cloud Networking: Practical experience with AWS VPC design and configuration, VPNs, Direct Connect, and routing/security group management.
- Virtualization: Understanding of VMware/virtual networking, load balancing (NetScaler or equivalent), and integration with compute/storage.
- Operating Systems: Familiarity with Windows Server and Linux (Ubuntu) networking.
- Monitoring & Management: Proficiency with SolarWinds or similar platforms; ability to analyze trends and proactively address issues.
- Infrastructure Knowledge: Understanding of transceivers, fiber optics, structured cabling, and physical data center networking.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills with the ability to lead root cause analysis.
- Able to read, write and speak English.
- Successfully pass and maintain acceptable background checks and security clearances.
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge and experience with Disaster Recovery methodology and best practices.
- Extensive knowledge of Network Routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP. This is a work-from-home position with occasional trips to the data center as needed.
