Business Analyst, SDLC
BCM One
The Business Analyst role will serve as an internal expert in understanding the needs of both internal and external customers for the software solutions being developed by the Pure IP Development team. The primary functions include understanding and documenting requirements, along with providing basic testing to ensure the delivered software meets the defined requirements.
Work Locations:
This is a hybrid position with the ability to be based out of one of the following office locations: Grand Rapids, Michigan, Herndon, Virginia, Alpharetta, Georgia, or Blue Bell, Pennsylvania. This position is not eligible for sponsorship or relocation.
Hours:
Eastern Business Hours (8/9am to 5/6pm) with flexibility to liaise with international teams.
What You Will Do:
- Internal Expert – understand the functionality and application of current software solutions within the business, as well as the software capabilities of the development team.
- Planning – assist with both long-term and short-term planning of software projects to meet the needs of the business and its customers.
- Requirement Gathering - gather requirements from stakeholders through interviews, workshops, and surveys.
- Requirements Documentation – develop requirements documentation that can be used by the development team to build solutions.
- Data Analysis - analyze data to extract meaningful insights and make informed decisions on business and technical topics.
- Documentation - create detailed business and technical documents, including requirements specifications, process diagrams, and user manuals.
- Stakeholder Management - ensures stakeholder needs are understood and communicates effectively with them to ensure a successful project.
- Testing – Provide the first level of unit testing on new software to ensure it meets the requirements before providing it to customers (internal and external) for final validation.
What You Will Need:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 3 yrs experience in a business analyst or product management capacity
- Solid understanding of the SDLC process including issue tracking, with direct experience in software development a plus
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Able to work well across all departments and with external customers
- Highly organized and detail oriented
