Job Overview
As a member of the Operations department, the Technical Writer – Product Documentation will be responsible for creating and maintaining comprehensive product documentation that supports our various products. This includes user manuals, technical guides, API documentation, release notes, and more. The person in this role will work closely with software developers, product managers, the Software Customer Support and Training team members, and other stakeholders, to ensure our documentation is accurate, understandable, and user-friendly.
Responsibilities
- Develop, write, and maintain high-quality documentation for software products, including user manuals, technical guides, and API documentation.
- Collaborate with software developers, product managers, and other team members to gather information and understand documentation requirements.
- Ensure all documentation is accurate, understandable, and concise, meeting the needs of various audiences, including developers, end-users, and stakeholders.
- Update and revise existing documentation to reflect new product features, enhancements, and changes.
- Determine the most appropriate format for various documentation resources and provide documentation in those formats.
- Create diagrams, flowcharts, videos, and other visual aids to enhance the understanding of technical concepts.
- Conduct research and gather information from various sources to ensure documentation is understandable, accurate, comprehensive, and up to date.
- Review and edit documentation created by other team members to ensure consistency and quality.
- Manage multiple documentation projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and maintaining high standards of work.
- Ensure all product documentation is accessible for all users.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Communications, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Certified Technical Writer (CTW) certification is a plus.
- Minimum three (3) years’ experience as a Technical Writer, preferably in the software industry.
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with an eye for detail and accuracy.
- Excellent ability to translate complex technical concepts into understandable and user-friendly documentation.
- Proficiency in using documentation tools and software, such as, but not limited to: Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, Snagit, Camtasia, Photoshop, InDesign, and content management systems.
- Experience with technical video creation and editing is a plus.
- Familiarity with software development processes and terminology.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with API documentation and developer guides.
- Knowledge of Markdown, HTML, and other markup languages.
- Understanding of version control systems, such as Git, Jira, etc.
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies.

- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
- Other languages are an asset.
- Reading Comprehension: Detail-oriented understanding of written text.
